Q: why isn’t a GOP controlled Congress codifying Trump’s agenda?
A: Trump’s agenda isn’t the GOP agenda.
The GOP exists to serve in the minority.
When in the majority it *intentionally* hamstrings itself.
Why, for example, are Republicans arguing about proxy voting then going on vacation in Trump’s first 100 days?
And how does the GOP allow the Wisconsin Supreme Court to go full Progressive just in time to redistrict the state?
BECAUSE THEY DON’T WANT TO BE IN CHARGE.
Elected Republicans love serving in the minority where they can complain about spending while sitting on boards controlling money from said spending.
We get the Party we vote for.
Trump’s coalition is tenuous at best because the GOP is not unified.
“I’m fiscally conservative but socially liberal” is a lost leader.
In reality most elected Republicans are socially conservative and fiscally progressive.
I mean not socially conservative enough to stop 1 million abortions per year or put the 10 Commandments back in schools…but if you want someone to complain about the gays they’ve got you covered.
That’s it that’s all I’ve got.
