You’ve Got (Confidential) Mail
In one of the dumbest mistakes imaginable Michael Waltz, the US National Security Advisor (lol), “somehow” added known propagandist and wild-eyed Trump hater to a group chat about a military strike.
The reporter, Jeffrey Goldberg, writes for the Atlantic.
For those of you who don’t remember he was part of the campaign to convince Americans we needed to invade Iraq waaaaaay back in 2002 and a peddler of “Trump is a Russian asset!” fakery in 2016.
He’s heavily aligned with the NeoCon/Progressive alliance and in absolutely no way ever in the history of reason should be anywhere near a clearly high-level and potentially sensitive Signal chat with Trump (or any other admin) officials.
Worse than Benedict Arnold?
lol. No.
It’s sloppy, stupid and Waltz (or whomever added Jeffrey Goldberg to the group) should be fired, demoted or resign.
Trump 1.0 was derailed by this sort of incompetence and it needs to be quashed.
However, the chances of Waltz (or anyone else) being fired is approximately zero. I’ll talk about why in a minute.
How to Handle Scandal
1 - compare to something worse
13 Americans were killed, the Biden admin refused to allow US snipers to kill the eventual bomber while he was en route to the gate and we used a drone to kill a dude and his family as retaliation.
Adding an agitator to a group chat before a successful strike seems a lot less important.
2 - call out reporters who didn’t call for removal then who are now
Ask them why this is worse than that.
3 - do not fire anyone
Unless it’s on your own terms.
Progressives won’t stop if you give them a scalp.
They simply demand another.
That’s it that’s all I’ve got,
Kalian
